What is Project Hawker 2013 all about?
- Keeping “the golden era of aviation” alive today
- Inspiring younger generations with the wonders of aviation and the remarkable achievements of Harry Hawker and the Catalina
- Displaying the Catalina on the ground and in flight, to a wide audience while offering a unique publicity opportunity
How will Project Hawker 2013 achieve this?
Catalina G-PBYA, the oldest UK airworthy amphibian, is preparing to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the August 1913 Circuit of Britain flight undertaken by Harry Hawker (Pilot) and Harry Kauper (Mechanic) in a Sopwith Waterplane. This will be flown during August 2013.
